The Farringdon Practice in EC1, central London, has been set up with the express intent of offering highly experienced psychotherapists, psychoanalysts, psychologists and counsellors to a wide range of society. We are a committed organisation whose combined belief is in the importance of mental health.
Our practitioners have all undertaken rigorous trainings, are registered and accredited members of their respective organisations (listed below) and are pursuing their own ongoing professional development.
We are located in Zone 1, within easy reach of The City of London, Clerkenwell, Holborn, Moorgate, Islington, Marylebone, East and West London. We are located minutes from Farringdon and Barbican stations and 10 minutes from St Paul’s.

Matthew Bell, MSc is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and founding member of The Farringdon Practice. He has trained at The University of London (four years), The Society of Analytical Psychology (one year) and the British Psychoanalytic Association (five years) and he is a fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Prior to his private practice, which he started in 2009, he spent eight years working with both individuals and groups at Soho National Health Service as well as one year seeing patients in Holloway Prison. Amongst other things, Matthew has been a volunteer for overseas charities and was a Samaritan for six years.
Enrica Balestra MSc is an integrative psychotherapist who trained at the Metanoia Institute. She is a member of the BACP, a clinical supervisor and is registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. She has over 14 years’ experience as a psychotherapist in private practice, employee assistance programmes, further and higher education and the voluntary sector. Originally from an academic background in comparative literature, Enrica draws from the humanistic and the psychodynamic tradition to help clients explore and move beyond their sometimes limiting and painful life stories. Enrica is Italian, fluent in English and conversant in French. She has a special interest in relational trauma, narrative and the arts as well as in the way in which cultural norms and social expectations affect our sense of self and wellbeing. She has specialist training in Somatic Trauma Therapy, CBT and has extensive experience working with young adults.
Tessa Ettedgui, BA, Adv Dip & MA is an integrative psychotherapist who trained at the Minster Centre. She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and is registered with the UKCP. She has worked in education and the NHS as well as in private practice, and has experience of working with a wide range of clients of different ages, sexualities, linguistic and cultural backgrounds. She is fluent in French and conversant in Spanish. Tessa works with individuals on either an-open ended or time-limited basis.
Svetlana Fleming, BA MA is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist registered with the UKCP and is a BACP accredited psychodynamic counsellor. She is a trained clinical supervisor registered with the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision (BAPPS). Svetlana has 14 years of experience in both private practice and within the NHS. She also offers individual and group supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists and counselling psychologists.
Leanne Hoffman MA, is an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, and an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Alongside her private practice she also works for the Camden Psychotherapy Unit. Leanne works psychoanalytically helping people explore their thoughts, feelings and past to relieve difficult emotional states, understand more about their patterns of behaviour and improve many areas of people lives like their stresses, anxieties, and relationships. She works with individuals on a long term or short term basis. Leanne has also worked over the last eighteen years as a coach and organisational development consultant.
Andrew Miller, MA, is a psychotherapist and counsellor registered with the BACP and UKCP. He trained in integrative and existential psychotherapy at Regent’s University, and has previously practiced in the NHS, higher education and charity sectors. He helps people to explore and better understand their experiences, concerns or goals, and to expand the range of choices they believe they have.
Susanne Levin is an attachment based psychoanalytic psychotherapist in private practice and has worked as a supervisor for Kid's Company for six years. She has also worked for several charities including Sure Start, Maytree and Women + Health. Susanne is Swedish and works with people of many different cultures and backgrounds in her practice. Her theoretical background is in attachment theory and she is a fully qualified member of The Bowlby Centre and a registered member of the UKCP.

Jo Wise MSc MSc, is an experienced psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor, and an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). Alongside her private practice she works for the NHS. She has also worked for University Counselling services for a number of years. Jo works psychoanalytically, to help people explore difficult feelings and behaviours. She works with individuals, using either an open-ended or time-limited framework.
Julia Utting is a UKCP psychoanalytic psychotherapist working in private practice with individuals. She has many years experience of counselling students in schools , further education colleges and universities and currently works in a counselling service for university staff. She has also run supervision groups for MIND volunteer counsellors.
